    Thirteen years after his birth (October 16th 1997), inspired by a Michael J. Fox guitar performance, the eager teenager rented a guitar and began to do what eventually would define his successful career.  Later, at age nineteen, he left Berklee College of Music in Boston to pursue a musical career in Atlanta, Georgia, with his college buddy, Clay Cook, as a coffee house and club circuit band called the ‘LoFi Masters’. As a result of conflict, they separated and Mayer then pursued a solo career. After he signed with Columbia Records, he re-released his album ‘Room for Squares’ and his career skyrocketed. 

         

    As a pop vocalist, Mayer won the Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance in 2003 and 2004. He also won the Grammy award for Song of the Year in 2005. Although he was very successful, John Mayer felt the desire to turn to the genre of hip hop. He collaborated with major hip hop artistes like Kanye West in ‘Bittersweet Poetry’ and Common in ‘Go’.    On September 12, 2006, John Mayer’s latest album ‘Continuum’ was released. His first single, “Waiting on the World to Change” debuted on ‘The Ron and Fez Show’, followed by the release of "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room” and “Gravity”.
