    Gwen Renee Stefani was born (October 3, 1969) and raised in California by her parents Patti Flynn and Dennis Stefani along with her three siblings, Jill, Todd and her eldest brother Eric. While attending California State University, Fullerton, her brother Eric encouraged her to join the band ‘No Doubt’ where she sang lead vocals alongside the band’s lead male vocalist, John Spence. After the tragic death of John Spence she fought to keep the band together. As a result, the band signed with Interscope Records in 1991. Between the years 1986 and 2003, No Doubt had popular hits such as “Hey Baby”, “Underneath it All” and “Its My Life”.

         

     In 2004 she dived into a solo career in hopes of having even more success than she did as a member of ‘No Doubt’. ‘Love. Angel. Music. Baby.’ was her first solo album. The album released in November 2004 reached multi-platinum status in the US. This album was littered with hits. “What you waiting for”, “Rich Girl” featuring female rap sensation Eve, “Hollaback Girl”, “Cool” and “Luxurious” are a just a few of the chart-toppings releases. Her second album “The Sweet Escape” comprised of collaborations with Akon, Damian Marley, Keane and The Neptunes. Gwen Stefani also toured North America, Europe, Asia and the Pacific on the Sweet Escape tour to promote her album.
