      Elton John began playing the piano as early as three years old. The young pianist played at family gatherings. His entire family nurtured and encouraged this talent. His talent earned him a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music. This piano genius, at age fifteen, began to work part-time as a musical entertainer. In 1964 ‘Bluesology’ was formed. They toured with major artistes like the Isley Brothers and Patti LaBelle and The Bluebelles. In 1967, Elton John partnered with Bernie Taupin to produce songs for other artistes.

         

Elton John went on to release his debut album, “Empty Sky”, which saw little success. Later, in the spring of 1970 under DJM Records/Pye Records in the UK and Uni Records in the USA, his self-titled album was released. He began to build a name for himself as a solo artiste and he gained praises from fellow artistes. Years of success subsequently followed.
